How to Live Healthier


Nutrition Warriors People look for quick solutions to problems that have bothered them for months or even years. Life style changes will eliminate most problems and health will be once again restored. Just by adding meditation to you day can lower you cotrisol levels (stress hormones) and blood pressure. Improve immune function and more restful sleep.  Yoga also has many healing benefits as well.

Eating foods that nourish the body is also very important. The body is amazing it can heal itself, sing, dance, and talk all at once with no instructions .  Eating foods that nourish our body type helps the body stay at ease and not become unbalanced.  There are 3 body types Vata, Pitta and Kapha, each need to be nourished in different ways. Kapha needs more spice to their diets and Pitta's need to eat more cucumbers and apples. A Vata needs warm foods and bananas. When we eat the foods that restore balance the digestion, mental and emotional well being  also improves.

Aroma therapy is one of my favorite gateways to the inner pharmacy. Anxiety and backaches can be pacified by the aroma of basil, orange, and vanilla. Anger and ulcers can be calmed by the aromas of rose, sandalwood and mint.  To enliven and to invigorate eucalyptus and rosemary are great  stimulating aromas.  Music can sooth the beast or enliven a party.

Most people also do not breath correctly. Breathing techniques can clear your head and super charge you for a task or it also can be used to relax the brain and body so you can fall asleep. Some breathing exercises are used to heat the body up or cool it off.  Dr Weil has a great breathing technique 4-7-8 Breathing. This has helped many people with anxiety and other problems.

Massage is also a great way to start the day and end it. Touch is a powerful healing tool.  Not only does it feel good it also helps detoxify the body, calm the mind and also enhances immune function.

Journaling is also a great way to let go of inner conflicts and resolve problems or concerns. It is also a great place to write poetry or draw and no one else has to see it. Your own private thoughts, wishes and dreams.
