The Perfect Health program is an Ayurvedic approach to health and well-being based on the global best seller, Perfect Health, by Deepak Chopra, M.D.
In this program, you will:
- Determine your personal mind-body constitution (dosha), and tailor your diet to your body’s needs.
- Learn to make choices that will aid your body in healing itself.
- Develop daily Ayurveda routines, such as self-massage, breathing techniques, aromatherapy, herbal healing, and mindful eating.
- Address your specific health issues, such as heart conditions, insomnia, irregular menstruation, menopause, erectile dysfunction, and others.
- Experience gentle, energy-opening yoga postures that awaken the body’s inner pharmacy to create emotional freedom.
- Learn mindfulness and meditation techniques.

What is The Perfect Health Program?
Based on the best-selling book, Perfect Health, by Deepak Chopra, M.D., the program teaches you to easily bring balance and healing into your life. Students will learn a powerful regimen of Ayurvedic practices designed to balance the body and mind, enhance nutrition, reduce emotional turbulence, and re-awaken the senses.
We all seek perfect health — physically and emotionally – in our lives. The Chopra Center co-founder and medical director, David Simon, M.D., has designed a beautiful, five-lesson course to reconnect us to our own personal health and wellbeing. When our bodies and minds are in balance we can make nourishing choices, heal our bodies, and experience the joy that we seek in life.
How Will Perfect Health Affect My Life?
Today, doctors are increasingly citing stress as a major contributing factor to most illnesses. Our bodies and minds react to stress in ways that create physical challenges and emotional turbulence, impacting our lives at home, at work, and at play. In time, we can find ourselves in toxic relationships and non-nourishing patterns of eating, sleeping, and digestion.
The Perfect Health Program will help you identify the imbalances in your life, teach you how to correct them, and help you develop a nurturing daily routine. You will also learn to release emotions in a healthy way so that they do not build up in your physiology. Most importantly, as your stress is eliminated, your mind and body begin to function with maximum effectiveness, creating health, vitality, and happiness.
What Will I Learn in The Perfect Health Program?
Session One: Body, Mind and Soul ~ The Multi-Dimensional Life
In this session, you will learn the basic principles of Ayurveda, meditation, and yoga, as well as the three mind-body types, or doshas.
Session Two: Food as Medicine
By embracing the concept of food-as-medicine, you will learn to select the most nourishing foods for you as an individual, empowering you to maintain vibrant health, appropriate weight and optimized digestion.
Session Three: Perpetual Renewal ~ Detoxification, Purification and Rejuvenation
Here you will learn to incorporate steps into your life that enable you to renew yourself each day by recognizing and eliminating toxins and performing gentle rejuvenating techniques. You will discover simple holistic routines that help you minimize stress, sleep soundly, and wake each morning feeling healthy, vibrant, and balanced.
Session Four: Emotional Freedom
In this session you will explore conscious communication and learn why emotional freedom is the necessary ingredient in our quest for health in all aspects of our lives. Learn tools that can transform your relationships and help you experience more intimacy and joy in your life. Awareness can greatly improve how we deal with the conflicts and discomforts in our relationships. Being present with another person allows us to really sense what's needed in that moment, rather than getting stuck in our old patterns and reactions. We can start to listen to the other person more fully and let go of our need to be right. From a mindful place, we can also know our own desires, and communicate them with precision and clarity. This alertness engages us more fully in all of our relationships, and in every aspect of our lives.
Session Five: The Five Gateways to Your Inner Pharmacy
The final session delves into the healing power of the five senses: sound, touch, sight, taste, and smell. You will learn how to strengthen the body’s inner pharmacy by using specific tools that use each of the senses to heal, nourish, and balance your mind and body.

Primordial Sound Meditation
Developed by Deepak Chopra, M.D., and David Simon, M.D., at the Chopra Center for Well-Being, Primordial Sound is a form of meditation that allows us to experience inner calm and deep relaxation.
In this program, you will:
- Receive your personal mantra.
- Learn how to develop a powerful meditation practice of your own.
- Learn how to decrease stress and face daily challenges with a sense of clarity and peace.
With a regular meditation practice we develop what is known as “witnessing awareness.” This is the ability to calmly and non-judgmentally observe what is happening, notice when we are being triggered and then consciously choose how we want to respond. Meditation is a great way to listen to yourself from deep within.
The mind tends to get stuck in repetitive loops that squash any new ideas and inspiration. How Meditation and Mindfulness Work:
Meditation is the practice of concentrated focus. The focus can be on a sound, object, image, your breath, a movement, or on attention itself, in order to increase awareness of the present moment. Meditation produces a state of deep relaxation and a sense of balance, calm, empathy, and acceptance of self and others.
Have you tried meditation, but found your thoughts won’t quiet down? You’re not doing anything wrong. When you begin to meditate, it’s normal for your mind to jump from your to-do list, to memories of a vacation, to willing itself to be quiet.
A silent mind is not the goal of meditation – it is the process of stilling it by focusing on one thing. When your attention wanders, you can bring it back to a point of focus – and by doing that, you are meditating. You are training yourself to place your attention where you want it. This is very powerful. It gives you the ability to respond thoughtfully to challenges, rather than to fall into old patterns of reactivity. You will make more productive and peaceful decisions. The practice of meditation provides you with the silence and space that allows your total being to recover and rejuvenate. It opens you to a new relationship with your thoughts and with yourself. In these ways, meditation improves your physical, mental and emotional health.
When you are mindful, you are fully present in the moment without judgment. Mindfulness is a way of paying attention to, and seeing clearly whatever is happening in our lives. It will not eliminate life's pressures, but it can help us respond to them with greater calm that benefits our heart, body, mind, and spirit. It helps us recognize and step away from habitual, often unconscious emotional and physiological reactions to everyday events. It provides us with a scientifically researched approach to cultivating clarity, insight, and understanding. Practicing mindfulness allows us to be fully present in our life and work, and improve our quality of life.
Mindful Eating: Eating mindfully allows you to slow down and really listen when your body tells you what it needs to perform optimally.
When you eat mindfully, several things happen:
- You can tell the difference between real hunger and stress eating.
- You sense which foods truly nourish your body.
- You savor your food, non-judgmentally, allowing yourself to fully enjoy the flavors.
- You eat the right amounts at the right times, leaving neither stuffed nor starved.
- You stop ignoring hunger cues because you're too busy to eat.
- You're fully involved in the process, no longer eating mindlessly.
According to Dr. Lilian Cheung at Harvard's School of Public Health, the by-product of mindful eating is its potential as a psychological barrier to overeating, leading to a slow, but more permanent weight loss that comes from making healthier choices for yourself.
You can begin the practice of mindful eating slowly. Try eating mindfully for one meal per week, or for the first 5 minutes of each meal.
