Gout Diet

Gout is a common form of arthritis caused by high levels of uric acid. The uric acid crystallizes and settles in your joints, tendons, kidneys,and cause inflammation and damage. Deposits in the kidney can led to kidney failure.

  • Eat Alfalfa
  • Eat Turmeric (capsicum) is a powerful anti-inflammatory
  • Celery seed extract contains many anti-inflammatory  compounds
  • Avoid eating ; anchovies, mackerel,shellfish, asparagus,consomme, herring, meat gravies, broths, mushrooms,sardines, peanuts, baker's and brewer's yeast, mincemeat and sweetbreads(heart, stomach) .
  • Enjoy foods like rice, millet, starchy vegetables, green vegetables,corn, cornbread, fruit, cheese, eggs,nuts, and milk.
  • Do Not eat meat. Meat contains a high amount of uric acid
  • Do Not drink alcohol.  Alcohol increases the production of uric acid and reduces its elimination.
  • Do No Eat any fried food, roasted nuts
  • Avoid white flour and sugar ( baked goods)
  • Limit your intake of caffeine, cauliflower, dried beans, lentils, fish, eggs, oatmeal, peas, poultry, spinach, and yeast products.
  • Fasting for longer than 3 days may increase uric acid levels
  • Deficiencies in vitamins B5, A and E can cause excessive amounts of uric acid to be produced
  • prolonged use of antibiotics can cause Candida infection and cause an increase in uric acid
  • Drink lots of water daily
  • Eat low fat and low protein diet
  • Eat celery, cherries, and blueberries daily
  • Stay at ideal body weight (exercise)
